The Shawlands Academy Dance Group won the Glasgow Community Champion Awards at the St Francis Centre in the Gorbals on Thursday, 21st January.
Lord Provost Bob Winter, Ruaraidh Nicolson Assistant Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police and Evening Times Editor Tony Carlin presented the awards on the night.
Ms Abbasi, the Dance Group's Founder and Choreographer said: “It’s wonderful to have won tonight, the dance group gives the young people skills they can use in later life as well as keep them fit and active.
