S3 Rugby Team make the Glasgow Cup Final 2011

Congratulations to all the members of our S3 Rugby team. A fantastic first full season ended with the boys reaching the final of the Under 16 John Lewis Emerging Schools Championship at Scotstoun. Unfortunately, our squad came up against a well drilled and experienced team from Hyndland Secondary School and were well beaten by the final whistle. However, given that our team is currently an Under 15 side, we look forward to competing in the competition again next year.

Thank you once again to school champion Mr Hamilton for his organisation and supervision of the team. Thanks also go to our SRU coach Monty for having the boys so well prepared for competition.

S1/S2 Team make the Glasgow Cup Final 2011

Congratulations to the boys in the S1-S2 rugby team who qualified for the Glasgow Emerging Schools Cup Final. The final took place at Scotstoun Stadium on the 18th of May. Our opponents in the final were Holyrood Secondary School. Unfortunately, Shawlands Academy lost narrowly to a very good Holyrood team. However, making the final did cap a tremendous first season for the boys - Well Done!
